About us
The First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City has been on the corner of Floral Avenue since 1892, starting as the Floral Avenue Sunday School, and eventually incorporating as the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City in 1918. First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City is a member of Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) and is active in the Susquehanna Presbytery. We are a Christ-centered congregation looking to glorify God in all that we do.
First Pres JC invites you to join us in person for Sunday worship at 10am. Our services are also available via livestream. Our worship service is blended with a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary worship. Most Sunday’s include our choir and of course the beautiful pipe organ. All ages are welcome!
First Presbyterian is so much more than just Sunday morning worship. On Wednesday’s beginning at 5:00 pm, we serve a light dinner. (For more information see “This Day”) Thursday evening at 6pm is Bible study followed by Choir practice at 7pm. (For more information about these and other ways to get involved see the “Get Involved”) These smaller groups are a great opportunity to begin studying the Bible in an environment where you can ask questions and dig more deeply into the Word. It is a great opportunity to grow spiritually.
